Ogilvy & Mather Direct's Interactive Marketing Group is losing another executive to the Baby Bells. Meredith Flynn, VP-account director and a potential heir to the group's departing head, Martin Nisenholtz, is leaving for a job at U S West. Ms. Flynn couldn't be reached for comment, and her specific title couldn't be learned. It's believed she'll fill a similar post to the one created for Mr. Nisenholtz at Ameritech, where he was earlier named director of content strategy. O&M is expected to name a new director for the unit soon.

3DO Co., Redwood City, Calif., last week said it will offer a PowerPC-based unit to be used with its interactive videogame player, significantly boosting its speed and performance. The M2 Accelerator, due late next year, is expected to help 3DO's Real Interactive Multiplayer compete with the next generation of 64-bit video-game machines arriving in 1995 from Sega, Nintendo and Sony. Sales of 3DO's 32-bit, $499 videogame machine, currently the fastest such machine available, have been slow since its introduction last October. Analysts say the M2 Accelerator may boost sales this fall.

Geoffrey Darby moved to president of Viacom Interactive Television Services, New York, a new post, from president-programming for Whittle Communications' defunct Medical News Network, Knoxville, Tenn. ... James N. Longson to exec VP-general manager at Compton's NewMedia, Carlsbad, Calif., from senior VP-technology at Compton's parent Tribune Co. Mr. Longson succeeds Compton's founder Norman J.
