Kids subscription service goes into beta

Published on .

Kids On-Line America, a subscription service for kids, parents and teachers went into beta March 17. The San Francisco-based KOLA Network said it will secure its service by requiring its members to be verified as children or parents and teachers. It then divides its members into six age-group divisions separated by firewalls. KOLA will also support itself through corporate sponsors and targeted advertising. A family subscription to the service will cost $4.95 a month; KOLA also plans to offer its service bundled with Internet service provider access for $24.95 a month.
