Kimberly-Clark growing in Europe

Published on .

Kimberly-Clark Corp. will boost capacity for its Western European diaper business 30% by early 1998 to accommodate growth of its Huggies brand, the company said Wednesday. KC's European diaper volumes are up more than 70 percent from last year and the company has captured market share of 25% in the $1.2 billion diaper market in the U.K. and France, said John A. Steenberg, president, Kimberly-Clark Europe. Ogilvy & Mather handles advertising for KC, which has become Europe's No. 2 diaper producer, behind Procter & Gamble Co., since entering the market in 1994.
