Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners West, San Francisco, now has 60 employees after cutting 10% of its staff, the first layoff in the shop's four-year history. Executives cited the tough business environment for some of its tech clients, PeopleSoft among them. Other clients at the shop include Cisco Systems and Mother's Cookies. More than a half-dozen San Francisco shops have experienced layoffs since the first of the year, most of them involving cuts of about 10% of the city's agency workforce. -- Alice Z. Cuneo
