Settling uncertainties about future directions in food service, Kmart Corp., Troy, Mich., said it will continue its long-term alliance with Little Caesars Enterprises, Detroit, in a new project aimed at boosting sales at Kmart restaurants. The pizza company's brand, now in some 525 Kmarts, will be expanded to some 1,000 more locations as part of "KCafe," an in-store eating area that will also feature other national brands, including Coca-Cola and Sara Lee. The cafes will be tailored to each Kmart marketing area, the company said. Kmart now has some 1,850 restaurant locations posting sales of about $350 million. A Little Caesars spokeswoman said joint marketing programs are likely.
