Published on .

Kmart Corp., Troy, Mich., and Cardinal Health, Dublin, Ohio, have signed a letter of intent for Kmart to sell its pharmacy inventory to Cardinal, which would become the discount retailer's exclusive national pharmacy supplier. Kmart would keep operating its 1,670 pharmacies; Cardinal would assume responsibility for direct replenishment of the Kmart pharmacies nationwide. The venture, if regulatory approvals are granted, is set to start Aug. 1.
