The Knot, a wedding-themed series on America Online created by Element Studios, will in April distribute Knot-branded AOL access disks to the bridal departments of 20 Bloomingdales across the country. Disks offer 50 free hours of access on AOL. The content provider also plans to launch its own Web site on April 17, and is separately in discussions with two book publishers regarding Knot-branded titles.
The startup has sold about $200,000 in advertising since its September launch, and just this week signed Lenox China as an advertiser. The Knot is also negotiating a deal to begin selling disposable Kodak Funsaver cameras on its site.
