KRAFT SHIFTS NABISCO DATA TO ACNIELSEN

Published on .

(July 16, 2001) -- Kraft Foods announced today it has consolidated its scanner data account with VNU's ACNielsen, though it also announced a new long-term agreement for strategic research services with Information Resources Inc.

Nabisco Foods, acquired in December by Kraft, had been an IRI scanner data client. Under the new agreement, ACNielsen will provide all Kraft Foods operations globally, including Nabisco, with scanner data, consumer panel and other analytical and modeling services.

Under its new agreement with IRI, Kraft Foods will receive "certain specialized, high-value services" in the U.S., including analytic and store-level audit services, Kraft said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and representatives of IRI and ACNielsen could not immediately comment on net impact on revenues or earnings from the account move. -- Jack Neff
