L'Oreal merges Carson Brands

L'Oreal USA, New York, regrouped several units to integrate ethnic and specialty brands acquired in its purchase of Carson Products. Carson ethnic haircare and cosmetics brands Dark & Lovely and Ultra Sheen will merge with L'Oreal's Soft Sheen Products, Chicago. Soft Sheen President Terri Gardner will head the SoftSheen/Carson division, while Malcolm Yesner, president-CEO of Carson, will become exec VP-global business development. Dermablend, a corrective cosmetics line, will join L'Oreal's luxury products division. Dermablend President Tim Hogan will retain that post.
