Published on .

Labatt USA acquired the U.S. distribution rights to brands from Danish brewer Carlsberg. The importer gains the brands effective Nov. 1 from current distributor Anheuser-Busch. Labatt Brewing Co., the Canadian parent of the U.S. importer, has handled the Carlsberg brews in Canada since 1988. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Last month, Labatt Brewing signed a deal to acquire brands from Lowenbrau AG once the German brewer's contract with Miller Brewing Co. expires in 1999.
