Lancome launches vitamin C face cream

Published on .

PARIS -- Group L'Oreal continues to take the lead in marketing cosmetics containing vitamin C. In January, L'Oreal subsidiary Laboratoires Garnier launched under its Synergie brand the first major face cream brand with vitamin C for the mass market.

Now L'Oreal's prestige Lancome brand is launching its first vitamin C face cream, called Vitabolic. The cream also contains ginseng and ginkgo, another innovation.

Two years ago, L'Oreal staged the first successful launch of a vitamin C face cream in the prestige market, called Force C under its Helena Rubinstein brand. Helena Rubinstein continues to expand its highly successful Force C line. It has just launched an eye cream with vitamin C and a vitamin C facial mask.

It's widely accepted that vitamin C works as an antioxidant to protect skin cells. L'Oreal claims its products tone and brighten the skin.
