U.S. Olympic soccer star Alexi Lalas scores endorsement gold as spokesman for the Slurpee. Mr. Lalas, who has said he downs a Slurpee before every soccer game, made his commercial debut for Southland Corp.'s 7-Eleven convenience store chain in July. One spot from J. Walter Thompson USA, Chicago, has the soccer celeb promoting the "7-Eleven Slurpee Fantasy 1996 World Series Trip." In the commercial, Mr. Lalas lets out an ear-splitting scream when he realizes he's a winner. The spot is airing exclusively during Fox's "Game of the Week."
