LANDMARKS: THE WEEK OF JANUARY 13, 1997: ATTITUDES: THE BIG PUSH: IN A PICKLE OVER HOSTESS HO HOS

Published on .

What looks like a giant Ho Ho is too good to be true for a sweet-toothed cat in a campaign for Interstate Bakeries Corp.'s Hostess snack cakes. In three new spots, animals or aliens mistake objects for large Hostess products. The big Ho Ho is really a rolled up carpet. The cat jumps in, takes a trip in the rug and when it emerges is greeted by a group of quizzical canines. The multimillion-dollar campaign from Campbell Mithun Esty, Minneapolis, broke last week, running on kids cable and spot TV. Copywriter: Michael Atkinson. Art director: Clark Tate.
