A new airline with a familiar name, Pan American World Airways, took off this month with a $5 million campaign from Weller, O'Sullivan, Zuckerman & Lightcap, New York, emphasizing low prices and no restrictions. The first spot recreated a real experience: The pilot of a Pan Am test flight requested permission to land, surprising a Miami air traffic controller who didn't know the airline was back. The six-week TV and newspaper campaign appears in the first three cities of service: New York, Los Angeles and Miami.
