[venice, calif.] TBWA Chiat/Day has decided to pursue Apple Computer's estimated $80 million to $90 million U.S. account, an executive close to the agency said. The shop had promised new client Taco Bell the Venice office would not pursue new business while it absorbed the fast-food account, an agreement some saw as a stumbling block for an Apple pitch (AA, July 21). But the shop's Taco Bell debut campaign broke over the weekend, and the executive said the moratorium probably will not be an issue. The Venice office handled Apple until 1986.
MCCANN WINS $80 MIL RECKITT CREATIVE ACCOUNT
[london] Reckitt & Colman, the U.K.-based household products marketer, is moving almost $80 million in European business from Euro RSCG to McCannErickson Worldwide, although media buying remains at Carat. The move follows Reckitt's choice of McCann in January 1996 to handle all advertising for its global brands, an account worth about $230 million. At the time, local and regional brands were left at Euro RSCG.
SPRINT INTERACTIVE BUSINESS TO EAGLE RIVER
[westwood, kan.] Sprint Corp. is expected to announce July 29 that Chicago-based Eagle River Interactive has won the telecommunications giant's $20 million consolidated interactive account. Prior to consolidation, Sprint's business had been handled by several agencies on a project basis.
P&G ENDS TEST OF BONUS DETERGENT
[cincinnati] Procter & Gamble Co. as of Oct. 1 is discontinuing Bonus detergent, which rolled into an expanded New England test market in September following an August 1995 launch in upstate New York. "We met our goal of what we wanted to learn," said a spokeswoman. She wouldn't comment on any future plans for a national launch of the brand, which occupied an increasingly competitive value segment. Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, New York, handled Bonus.
TONY'S PIZZA SERVICE PLANS '98 AD CAMPAIGN
[marshall, minn.] Tony's Pizza Service will be launching its first national advertising beginning in early '98 for its Freschetta Bakes & Rises Pizza. The company is now adding two new varieties to the line currently in 63 markets, including BBQ Chicken with Bacon and Vegetable Primavera with Creamy Garlic Sauce. Bozell, Minneapolis, does the advertising.

GATORADE FROST NO. 2 AFTER ONLY 5 MONTHS
[chicago] Quaker Oats Co. is claiming Gatorade Frost, its new product line introduced in March, has hit the $100 million sales mark. In a conference call with analysts, Quaker said Frost, which received $10 million in media support in the second quarter, is now the No. 2 brand in isotonics, behind the base brand and ahead of Gatorade Powder, PowerAde and All Sport. Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, handles Frost.
HEINZ NARROWS FIELD IN $15 MIL ORE-IDA REVIEW

RODALE PRESS ACQUIRES `NEW WOMAN' FROM K-III
[emmaus, pa.] Rodale Press on July 25 signed a deal to acquire New Woman from K-III Communications Corp. for under $20 million after an all-night negotiating session between the two companies. Rodale will publish New Woman beginning with the November issue. While New Woman will continue to be published in New York, under Rodale it will no longer accept tobacco or liquor advertising. Barbara Newton, Rodale's VP-publishing director of women's health magazines, will get responsibility for New Woman.
Steve Zammarchi, 45, to managing director, a new position, Wunderman Cato Johnson, Chicago, from exec VP in the agency's New York office. . . . Dexter Fedor, formerly senior VP-creative director, Ketchum Advertising, San Francisco, has moved to Hal Riney & Partners' San Francisco office to head the Sprint PCS account. Mr. Fedor's new title was undetermined at press time. . . . Linda Garrison, 50, to managing director, Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago. Ms. Garrison previously was one of four managing partners. CMP Media made its stock market debut July 25 with the company selling 3.75 million shares; stock closed at $24.875, putting a market valuation on CMP of $562.8 million. The tech publisher will use most of its sale proceeds to repay debt and make a distribution to the founding Leeds family. Outsiders now will own 22% of CMP, but the Leeds retain 97% of voting rights.
