Features Cameo Performances by Corporate VIPs

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The latest phase of the $40 million "I Love New York" campaign hopes this time to lure businesses as well as tourists to the Empire State.

A variety of business executives make appearances in the 60-second spot, including publishing execs Steve Florio, president-CEO of Conde Nast Publications, and Cathleen Black, president of Hearst Magazines; restaurant impresario Drew Nieporent of the Tribeca Grill and Nobu; Ken Chenault, CEO of American Express; Richard Fuld, chairman-CEO of Lehman Brothers; Ivan Seidenberg, president-COO of Verizon, and Richard Grasso, chairman of the New York Stock Exchange.

The Wolf Group, New York, handles the campaign, which is under the auspices of the Empire State Development Corp.

The campaign kicked off Oct. 10 with a spot entitled "New Day" that featured Gov. George Pataki and Mayor Rudy Giuliani with a cameo by TV host Regis Philbin as anonymous New Yorkers shout "I Love New York."

Gov. Pataki is scheduled to hold a news conference today.

The Empire State Development Corp. is the state's economic development agency, which also oversees business subsidy programs.
