Lauder sales higher

Estee Lauder Cos. reported a 10% increase in net sales for the fiscal year ended June 30 to a record $3.2 billion. The company had net earnings of $160.4 million for the year, up 32% over fiscal 1995. Strongest growth was generated in the fragrance category, where sales increased 14% over the prior year to $776 million. Makeup product sales were up 13% in the year, to $1.13 billion, Skin care products grew 6% over the prior year to $1.29 billion.
