Layoffs hit American Cybercast

American Cybercast Network laid off 12 of its 56 staffers, according to a report in Variety. The company, creator of the Spot, eliminated staffers in all organizational areas. AMCY has expansive plans to launch an online network of shows and recently tapped Scott Siegel, a former Columbia Pictures Television exec, as president of entertainment. AMCY execs reportedly acknowledge they may have grown too quickly, but assert the company isn't financially strapped.
