Layoffs start at JWT/SF

Published on .

J. Walter Thompson USA, San Francisco, laid off two dozen employees as a result of the loss of the Sprint account. JWT spokeswoman Mary Churchill said the staff reductions are not complete and that the agency was also working to place workers in other positions, reduce staff through attrition and also to leave vacant positions unfilled. She predicted the layoffs would affect at most about one third of the San Francisco office's 200 employees.
