Layoffs at Walmart.com and buy.com

Published on .

Wal-Mart.com and Buy.com have become the latest e-commerce ventures to make staff cuts. Walmart.com said it would lay off 10% of its work force, or 24 people. Buy.com said it would reduce cash operating expenses by eliminating about 125 jobs from the company's Aliso Viejo, Calif., headquarters, and reducing outsourced expenses. Through the cuts, the company expects to reduce the company's total annual operating expenses by $70 million.
