(June 27, 2001) MADRID -- Two of the last leading independent ad agencies, Grupo Barro and Solucion, are to merge in what analysts say may be a preamble to a potential association with a multinational network.

The Madrid-based new shop, Barro Solucion, is likely to lay off some employees. Clients include Banco de Espana, Aldeasa and Lancia. -- Fernando Montanes
