Published on .

The National Ski Areas Association tapped Leagas Delaney, San Francisco, as lead agency for a new $20 million account designed to increase skiing and snowboarding by 12% by the winter 2001 season. Leagas pitched the account with Mandala Agency, Bend, Ore., whose ski area experience tipped the scales for Leagas Delaney, the client said. The push will be funded by the trade group, ski marketers and retailers. Other finalists, pared from a list of 40, were D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Troy, Mich.; Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco; and McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York.
