League cites 'Nothing Sacred' tally

The Catholic League, the conservative religious group urging advertisers to boycott ABC's "Nothing Sacred," says 11 advertisers have now pulled advertising from the show, reports Electronic Media. The Ponderosa steakhouse chain is the latest advertiser in a list that includes Isuzu, Weight Watchers, K-Mart, Benckiser, DuPont, Red Lobster, Ocean Spray, Sears, AT&T and Glaxo Wellcome, according to the Catholic League. ABC notes that the show's advertising time remains sold out. A more pressing concern for "Nothing Sacred" is its performance against NBC's Thursday night competition. The second episode of "Nothing Sacred" averaged a 2.0 Nielsen rating in adults 18 to 49 last week, down from its premiere 3.0 rating in the demographic. The show's future may hinge on whether tonight's rating continues that downward slide.
