Edelman Public Relations Worldwide late on Oct. 24 denied that its client, Daewoo Motor America, tapped Leap Partnership, Chicago, to devise its national strategy from among its four regional shops. Leap announced the news that morning, saying it had Daewoo's OK to publicize the assignment. A regional Daewoo executive insists the official word won't come until Woo Choong Kim, chairman of South Korea's Daewoo Group, sees the advertising in a month or so. Daewoo launches its cars in the U.S. next year.
