Co. laid off 74 staffers in its Chicago offices Thursday, reducing staff on groups affected by the loss of several accounts earlier this year. A Burnett spokesman said virtually every department at Leo Burnett USA had some layoffs, although Burnett's media buying operation continues adding staff.
The reductions bring the Chicago staff to 1,916 people. The layoffs did not affect Burnett's overseas operations, its Leo Burnett Field Marketing Services media subsidiary, Giant Step Productions, Capps Studio or medical agency Williams-Labadie.
