LG InfoComm taps Hill Holliday

LG InfoComm U.S.A., the San Diego-based wireless subsidiary of LG Electronics, named the Interpublic Group of Cos.' Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, New York, its first agency of record, a spokeswoman for LG confirmed. Merkley Newman Harty, New York, also vied for the estimated $10 million to $15 million account; other contenders could not be determined.

Separately, LG InfoComm named Chris Yi, VP-marketing and product management, in charge of developing marketing strategy and managing wireless carrier relations for the U.S. Mr. Yi previously was a general manager in the company's information and communication unit, managing LG's wireless handset business in Korea and San Diego.
