Livin' the urban sophisticate life

While dot-com executives may hold that San Francisco is the priciest city on the West Coast, a July study shows that in fact, the city ranks fourth among all U.S. cities when it comes to average sale prices of two-bedroom condominium units in prime neighborhoods. According to Corcoran Group data, San Francisco luxury condo prices are lower even than similarly chic condos in Los Angeles and San Diego.

The five most expensive cities in the U.S. , in terms of average sale price of a two-bedroom condo in a prime area:

New York $1,589,000

San Diego $1,094,000

Los Angeles $947,000

San Francisco $925,000

Seattle $856,000
