Local managers take control of BBDO Moscow

Published on .

MOSCOW-- BBDO Moscow Managing Director Christian Gaunt has handed control of the agency to local management, in line with BBDO Europe philosophy. Russians Igor Lutz, the agency's former creative director, and Ella Stewart, previously financial director, will now run the shop as group chairman and chief operating officer, respectively.

In addition, Gerry Corish, group account director, will succeed Client Service Director Tara Erickson when she leaves at year end.

BBDO Europe says the changes reflect its desire to have local managers lead its agencies, rather than rely too heavily on expatriates. In a statement, the BBDO Moscow Group says it believes the management revamp will "create a less hierarchical and more efficient organization."

A spokeswoman at BBDO Moscow refuses to give details of Mr. Gaunt's next move, saying it will "become clearer next week."
