Lowe Group buys U.S. agency Mullen

LONDON--The Lowe Group has acquired a majority stake in U.S. full-service ad agency Mullen, Wenham, Massachusetts. The New England agency will continue to operate as a stand-alone agency under its existing name and management. CEO Jim Mullen will join the Lowe Group as vice-chairman and have involvement in broader North American operations, including the development of Lowe's marketing service capability.

Founded in 1970, Mullen has a client list that includes General Motors Corp., L.L. Bean and Nextel, bringing in claimed billings of $255 million.
