SEOUL--Lycos is making its first expansion outside the U.S. of its "Builders Bucks" program in Korea. Launched in the North American market in September, the program pays homepage builders a share of ad revenues.

Lycos Korea will offer users of its Tripod homepage building service a fraction of a cent for each page hit. Pages receiving 10,000 hits a day will earn builders about $260 a month.

"The opportunity to earn cash and have a fun time doing it doesn't come too often. We hope Tripod can be the ideal home for Web entrepreneurs looking to attract more traffic to their sites," says Lee Hanoo, Community Manager for Tripod Korea.

Korea's Tripod site is the second largest in the world after the U.S. for members and page views. Managers hope Builders Bucks will encourage more commercial sites to set up links to Lycos.
