Lycos picks many partners

Lycos, an Internet search engine, has formed alliances with Microsoft, Apple Computer, FOCUS magazine, Europe Online and Simon & Schuster. For the Microsoft Network, Lycos will provide both its Internet guide and the site reviews created for Lycos by Point Communications. As part of the Apple Internet Connection Kit, the Lycos search engine will be offered under the Net Search button in its Netscape browser. Lycos will also be part of Europe Online's service and will be included in European magazine FOCUS's new online site to launch this year. Finally, Simon & Schuster will be publishing a book featuring top sites from the Lycos catalog called The Lycos 250,000 Most Popular Web Sites.
