Lycos takes 14% stake in e-commerce company

Internet portal Lycos took a 14% stake in iCOMS Corp., a Nashua, N.H.-basedcompany that creates e-commerce applications. It also supplies the backendinfrastructure for merchants on LYCOShop, Lycos' online shopping area. Thecompany plans to use the funds to expand operations. The dollar amount ofthe minority stake was undisclosed. Lycos and iCOMS also entered along-term alliance in which iCOMS will continue to provide backend supportand order-processing software for Lycos' merchants.
