M&M/Mars, Hackettstown, N.J., said Aug. 21 it has entered into an expanded agreement with Spanish confectioner Chupa Chups S.A. to distribute and market Chupa Chups lollipops in the U.S. The expected announcement comes more than a month after the Mars Inc. unit shifted the $20 million Chupa Chups account from the Richards Group, Dallas, to D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, St. Louis, one of its roster agencies. Mars also said it has named Gyro Worldwide, Philadelphia, and CNB Entertainment, Los Angeles, to handle special events and product sampling. Advertising and other marketing and distribution efforts will begin Jan. 1.
