Despite a large number of season debuts last week, the Big 4 networks were all down in adults 18-49, compared with the same week a year ago. NBC led the pack, with a 6.4 rating/18 share, as measured by Nielsen Media Research, followed by ABC with a 4.9 rating/14 share, CBS with a 4.3 rating/12 share and Fox with a 3.7 rating/11 share. NBC was down 2% from a year ago; ABC, down 6%; CBS, down 9%; and Fox, down a precipitous 14% in the 18-49 demo. Not only have two of Fox's new shows--"Action" and "Get Real"--been disappointing, ratings-wise, but two of its main drivers in the demo, "Ally McBeal" and "The X-Files," haven't yet had their season premieres.
