(July 3, 2001) -- Visa has narrowed the list of contenders in its interactive review to three finalists, according to search firm Select Resources International, which is conducting the review.

Incumbents on the business were MarchFirst, which declared bankruptcy in April, and @tmosphere, the interactive unit of BBDO Worldwide, the Omnicom Group unit that handles Visa's traditional business. The finalists are the San Francisco offices of AKQA, Modem Media, which is minority-owned by Interpublic Group of Cos. and Seneca Investments-backed Organic.

Organic is believed to be pitching the business with @tmosphere. Organic has been in talks with BBDO and @tmosphere about forming a strategic alliance. -- Alice Z. Cuneo and Catharine P. Taylor
