Make-over for 'Talk'

Published on .

Talk, the Tina Brown-helmed joint venture between Hearst Magazines and Miramax, will undergo its second design make-over since its launch last August. Starting with the September issue, the magazine will shift to offset printing from rotogravure, use heavier paper stock and be perfect-bound rather than saddle-stitched. In sum, the changes will make Talk look more like a monthly--say Vanity Fair--and less like a weekly--say Parade. With the September issue, appearing on newsstands Aug. 8, Talk also will increase its rate base by 20% to 600,000.
