Quaker Oats Co., Chicago, eliminated a management top tier that included Exec VP-Worldwide Beverages James Doyle, Exec VP-U.S. and Canadian Quaker Food Products Douglas Mills and Exec VP-International Foods Barbara Allen. The moves had been expected.

New Quaker Chairman-President-CEO Robert Morrison installed his own team, promoting Susan Wellington, VP-marketing-Gatorade, to Quaker VP and president of its U.S. beverages unit, and Harry Dent to president of its ready-to-eat cereals business from VP. President-Snacks Charles Maniscalco, President-Hot Breakfast Polly Kawalek and President-Golden Grain Mark Shapiro all add corporate VP titles and report directly to Mr. Morrison. The newly appointed executives will oversee all facets of their categories, from marketing to manufacturing and sales. No successor to Ms. Wellington as Gatorade's VP-marketing will be named.

Quaker also melded more of its international food and beverage operations. Bernardo Wilson, formerly president-Latin America, Europe and the Philippines for beverages, was named corporate VP and president, Quaker Latin America. Cassian Cheung, president, Pacific-international foods, was named corporate VP and president, Quaker Asia.
