Joel Manby, 40, is leaving Saab Cars USA, Norcross, Ga., as CEO for an unnamed, auto-related, senior management post at a non-competing business. A spokesman said he's not staying with General Motors Corp., which owns Saab Automobile AB. As a result, the Swedish parent Saab said global marketing and sales will be consolidated April 1 under Mikael Eliasson, VP-sales and marketing, who before handled only Europe and stays in Trollhattan, Sweden. Mr. Manby had the rest of the world. Dan Chasins, 42, chief operating officer of Saab Cars USA, adds sales and marketing duties for North and South America, and will report to Mr. Eliasson. Mr. Manby couldn't be reached for comment. He changed Saab's ad direction after arriving as president in 1996, which resulted in an agency switch to the Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., from Angotti, Thomas, Hedge, New York.
