The stock markets recovered slightly today but did not reverse Monday's record-setting losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 82.60 points to close at 10,290.80 in mixed trading. The NASDAQ market posted a healthy 4.75% increase as tech investors hunted for bargains. The tech-heavy index rose back over 2,000 points to close at 2,014.80, up 91.42 points.

Agency stocks were mixed, with MDC Corp. the biggest gainer and MarchFirst again the biggest loser. MarchFirst continued to hemorrage; it lost 32.26% of its stock price in very heavy trading to close down $0.31 at $0.66. MDC closed up 6.09%, gaining $0.44 to close at $7.63 in light trading.
