Marineau joins Dean

Philip A. Marineau, former president of Quaker Oats Co., has been named president-chief operating officer of Dean Foods Co., Franklin Park, Ill., effective Dec. 6. He succeeds Thomas L. Rose, who will remain on the board as vice chairman. Mr. Marineau, 50, spent 23 years with Quaker, and is credited with the growth of Gatorade. He resigned in October 1995 amid controversy over slumping sales of the Snapple drink line. Dean Foods markets a wide range of foods, including refrigerated milk products, frozen vegetables and sauces and dips.
