The Electronic Newsstand was created to market magazine subscriptions and single copies via the Internet. Users can browse the Newsstand, which offers a menu with four items: a current table of contents with a few articles from each magazine, a mission statement describing each magazine in the Newsstand, an archive file of clips from previous issues and a subscription offer. As soon as an order is made, the Newsstand staff immediately confirms receipt of the order with the customer and forwards the subscription request to the magazine.
