MarketWatch.com, an online financial news and information site, named the San Francisco office of FCB Worldwide its agency. The decision was made following review, which began with 10 agencies and narrowed to two. Competing for the account in the final round were FCB and the San Francisco office of TBWA/Chiat/Day
. Incumbent was SF Interactive, San Francisco. Spending on the multimillion-dollar account was not disclosed. FCB will handle strategic and creative development and media planning and buying. A campaign, scheduled to break in the first quarter, will involve national TV, print, online, radio and outdoor. Mediasmith, MarketWatch.com's current agency for online media planning and buying, will retain responsibility for that area.
