Marmol exits ailing Luminant; Corey named CEO

Published on .

The board of directors of Luminant Worldwide Corp., Dallas, named James R. Corey CEO, succeeding Guillermo "Gil'' Marmol, who the company said resigned to pursue other, independent business ventures. Mr. Corey will retain his title of president-chief operating officer. Mr. Marmol helped developed Luminant as an i-shop and took the company public last year; however, he also oversaw Luminant's announcement last week that it would post a third-quarter loss and fall short of third-quarter revenue projections (AdAge.com, Sept. 22).
