Mars confectionery shifts Australian business from Grey

MELBOURNE -- Three weeks after taking control of the former Weekes Morris Osborn/DMB&B agency in Australia, Pure Creative/DMB&B Melbourne has won an estimated $2 million in new business from Mars Confectionery Starburst and now has 60% of the local Mars Confectionery account.

Mars' other rostered agency, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, has also added the Milky Way business, worth about $1.5 million, to its M&Ms, Bounty and Snickers business. Both accounts were previously with Grey Sydney.

While praising Grey's work, a Mars spokesman says the company is concentrating its business in Melbourne. Pure Creative/DMB&B would not comment.

DMB&B Bombay Creative Director Nancy Horwitz has begun working with the agency here as associate creative director. Other staff said to be joining the agency include a London creative director and an overseas DMB&B creative who has worked on the Mars and Coca-Cola businesses.

Chris Clarke, the founder of Pure Creative, took control of DMB&B's Australian operations last month, resulting in the resignation of former DMB&B /Weekes Morris Osborn chairman, David Morris.
