(July 16, 2001) -- Sara Lee Corp's Sara Lee Branded Apparel unit hired the Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., to handle the $10 million to $15 million account for Hanes and Hanes Her Way intimate apparel.

Shops competing for the business included Bcom3 Group's Leo Burnett Co., Chicago; WPP Group's Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, Chicago; and Interpublic Group of cos.' Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago.

Incumbent Mullen/LHC, Winston-Salem, N.C., withdrew from the three-month-long in-house review of Sara Lee roster shops in June. The Interpublic Group of Cos. agency, formerly Long Haymes Carr, had handled the account for 20 years. -- Mercedes Cardona
