Martin/Williams lands Powertel

Published on .

Powertel selected Martin/Williams, Minneapolis, to advertise its wireless telephone service in the Southeast. The West Point, Ga., company plans to expand beyond its eight-state service region into another four. Martin/Williams beat Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis; incumbent Pollak Levitt Nel, Atlanta; and other, undisclosed agencies to win the estimated $25 million account. Consultant on the review was the Bedford Group, Atlanta. Powertel currently services Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Indiana. It is licensed in another four: Illinois, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri.
