Published on .

Major Maryland electric utilities threw their approval behind the state's decision to hold off deregulating the industry in the state for more than a year. Executives from Baltimore Gas & Electric, Potomac Electric Power Co., Delmarva Power & Light Co. and Allegheny Power released a statement together praising the Maryland Public Service Commission's decision to push back the start date of electric deregulation from April 1, 1999, to July 1, 2000.
