NEW YORK- MasterCard International is suing Sprint and World Cup USA 1994, alleging both violated its exclusive worldwide sponsorship rights to use World Cup soccer logos in the "card-based payment and account access devices" category. MasterCard alleges in U.S. District Court that its rights were violated when World Cup officials last fall granted Sprint usage of its logo on a telephone calling card.
