MasterCard taps GSD&M for media

MasterCard International, New York, named GSD&M, Austin, Texas, to handle media planning and placement for its $80 million account. The move is a surprise because GSD&M is a creative shop not known for media expertise. It beat out incumbent DeWitt Media, creative incumbent Ammirati & Puris/Lintas and Zenith Media, all New York.
