Match.com signs nine sponsors

Match.com, the electronic dating service owned by Electric Classfieds, San Francisco, has signed at least nine sponsors for an October sweepstakes designed to drive up subscription on its service, according to General Manager Fran Maier. Match.com began charging users less-than-$10 per month fees in February and works with multiple lifestyle sites on co-branded editions of the service. Among the sweepstakes sponsors are Joe Boxer, Amazon.com, Godiva Chocolatier, Clinique, Preview Travel, The Net, PC Flowers, Cyberian Outpost, and Smart Wines. Anderson Lembke, San Francisco, is working with the site on a less-than-$1 million banner campaign to announce the sweepstakes. Vacations and apparel are among the prizes sweeps entrants can win.
